Heather Edwards, RN, CPHQ

Heather Edwards is a Senior Clinical Risk Consultant at Physicians Insurance with a diverse background in healthcare. She joined the mutual company in 2019, bringing more than 20 years of experience on both the clinical and risk management sides of the healthcare business.

Prior to joining Physicians Insurance, Heather spent 16 years as a Quality and Risk Manager on the Southern Oregon Coast. She is a registered nurse and her experience in Critical Access Hospitals provided exposure to a wide range of departments, including emergency and surgical services, general medical-surgical departments, and healthcare clinics. This comprehensive exposure, combined with her experience in pediatric nursing and with agency nursing at large hospitals, provided Heather with the ability to manage risk in various clinical settings. 

Heather is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). She completed her nursing education at Southwestern Oregon Community College and received a bachelor’s degree in Art with a major in Education from Western Oregon University.
